Bernd "Omo" Schäumer war ein Musiker aus Bochum, Deutschland. Er war Gründungsmitglied der Ruhrpott-New-Wave-Band Vorgruppe, die 1980 als erste in der Region eine Single veröffentlichte. "Liebe oder Hass" auf dem Berliner Monogam-Label folgte 1981 das Album "Im Herzen von Nielsen 2". Nach der Veröffentlichung des Albums verließ Omo die Band im April desselben Jahres.

 

Fortan ist Schäumer Disque Omo und veröffenrtlicht 1981 die EP "Wer mitten im Leben steht" Ein Jahr später folgt der Track "Besoffen bin ich von dir". 

 

Bernd "Omo" Schäumer ist der Bruder von Michael Schäumer .

Bernd "Omo" Schäumer was a musician from Bochum, Germany. He was a founding member of the Ruhrpott-New-Wave-Band Vorgruppe, which was the first in the region to release a single in 1980. Liebe oder Hass on the Berlin Monogam label was followed by the album "Im Herzen von Nielsen 2" in 1981. After the album was released, Omo left the band in April of the same year.

From then on Schäumer became Disque Omo and in 1981 they released the EP "Wer mitten im Leben steht". One year later the track "Besoffen bin ich von dir" followed. 

Bernd "Omo" Schäumer is the brother of Michael Schäumer .

I am very sad to tell you that my brother, Bernd Schäumer, also known as Disque Omo and as a foundiing member of Vorgruppe, died  on February 7th, 2022, in Bochum. He was 60 years old.
